The Complete Parisian Mozart Compositions (1763 and 1778)
The famous Mozart à Paris set, lavishly produced by French Pathé in 1956 to celebrate the bicentenary of Mozart’s birth is considered the reference compilation of his Parisian compositions. It gathers together and represents some of the finest artists and interpreters to emerge from the Paris Conservatoire. Although many of the artists featured are perhaps obscure and did not achieve global recognition at the time – some of the performances committed to the grooves of these discs are truly outstanding… particularly the piano and chamber works. A decadent and historical artefact for the true classical music connoisseur.
