Forthcoming at the end of March on the ERC imprint will be Henriette Faure playing Debussy’s “Preludes Livre 1” and “ Estampes.”
Henriette Faure studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Louis Diémer, one of the leading exponents and most accomplished Pianists of the French school at the turn of the Century (Other other pupils included Alfred Cortot & Lazare-Lévy). Faure was also a superb interpreter of Ravel, having studied directly with the composer in 1922.
Faure’s 1961 astounding performance of these Debussy works for solo piano have given this Ducretet Thomson release a mythical status amongst collectors of french chamber music.
Whilst the mono original pressing of this recording appears occasionally in the residual market place , stereo copies in good condition are almost impossible to find .
Test pressings have now been approved and artwork is under way. See below.
